HA NOI (VNS) — The largest-ever parade in the country was held this morning in Ha Noi to commemorate 70 years since the day late President Ho Chi Minh made the Independence Declaration.
At least 30,000 troops and civilian units marched through Ba Dinh Square, the same historic place that witnessed the establishment of a free and independent Viet Nam following the victory of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945) against fascism in World War II.

HCM CITY (VNS) — A spectacular ceremony with a parade involving nearly 6,000 soldiers, militia, and civilians took place early on April 30 in HCM City to mark the 40th anniversary of the liberation of southern Việt Nam and national reunification.
The celebration to mark the victory over the US aggressors was attended by Party General Secretary Nguyễn Phu Trong, President Truong Tan Sang, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung, Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Sinh Hung, former national leaders, and leaders of HCM City and many provinces.

Viet Nam protects sovereignty in East Sea

HA NOI - Viet Nam's authorised agencies were tasked with firmly safeguarding the country's sovereignty, sovereign rights and jurisdiction in the East Sea, Foreign Ministry Deputy Spokesperson Pham Thu Hang told reporters at a regular press conference in Ha Noi.

Viet Nam stakes East Sea claim

HA NOI — In response to the Position Paper of the Government of the People's Republic of China on the Matter of Jurisdiction in the South China Sea Arbitration, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Viet Nam spokesperson Le Hai Binh stated:
"Once again, Viet Nam reiterates that Viet Nam has full historical evidence and legal foundation to reaffirm its sovereignty over the Hoang Sa and Truong Sa archipelagoes, as well as other legal rights and interests of Viet Nam in the East Sea.

Vietnam strongly objects to Taiwan’s survey on Ba Binh Island

The Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs has strongly objected to Taiwan’s illegal survey work on Ba Binh Island, part of Vietnam’s Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelago in the East Sea.

The objection was released by the ministry’s deputy spokeswoman Pham Thu Hang at a regular press conference of the ministry in Hanoi on Thursday, in reply to questions on Vietnam’s response to the fact that Taiwanese defense officials have made a survey trip on the island.

China told to stop illegal activities on Truong Sa

HA NOI (VNS) - Viet Nam urgently requests China to immediately end its construction projects on the Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelago and refrain from illegal activities in the future.

Foreign Ministry Spokesman Le Hai Binh made the request yesterday in response to China's illegal construction projects on Chu Thap (Cross) Rocks, part of Viet Nam's Truong Sa archipelago.
"Viet Nam has full legal and historical evidence proving its sovereignty over the archipelagos of Hoang Sa (Paracel) and Truong Sa," he said.

Vietnam condemns China’s illegal island construction

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned China’s illegal construction work on Gac Ma (Johnson South Reef) in Vietnam’s Truong Sa (Spratly) Islands as a “serious violation of Vietnam’s sovereignty.”

 

During a press briefing held Thursday, MOFA spokesman Le Hai Binh said Vietnam had sufficient legal and historical proof to assert its sovereignty over Truong Sa.

China told to explain attacks on fishermen

HA NOI (VNS) — China has been asked to deal with the beating and robbery of Vietnamese fishermen by its forces in the East Sea.
Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Le Hai Binh said yesterday that on August 1 and 14, two Vietnamese fishing boats from Quang Ngai, the QNg 96416 TS and QNg 96674 TS, were held up and robbed by the crew of several Chinese ships.
